In October, South West Cheshire District was proud to host one of Cheshire’s three selection days for the 26th World Scout Jamboree, which will take place in Gdańsk, Poland, in summer 2027.
The selection day was held at Milldale and welcomed applicants from Chester & District, Mid Cheshire, and South West Cheshire. Throughout the day, participants took part in a variety of activities designed to test teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience, alongside a formal interview with the selection panel.
This year saw an exceptionally high level of interest, with 24 applications for just 5 available places. The quality of applications and the enthusiasm shown by all participants made the final decisions extremely challenging. We would like to thank everyone who applied for the effort and commitment they put into the process.
We are delighted to announce the five young people have selected to represent South West Cheshire at the World Scout Jamboree
The group joined the rest of Unit 18 for the first time at the launch event on Sunday 7th December, officially beginning their World Scout Jamboree journey. We are confident they will represent South West Cheshire District with pride.
Over the coming year, the group will begin fundraising the £19,000 required to attend the Jamboree. Please keep an eye on our channels for upcoming fundraising events and opportunities to support them on this exciting journey.
