Our next District Camp will take place from Friday 30 April to Monday 3 May 2027, and we are now starting to build the team that will help make it happen.

District Camp is a chance to give young people across the District a large-scale Scouting adventure where they can belong, make friends, try new things, build confidence, develop skills for life, and create memories that will stay with them for years to come.

This event will be shaped by teamwork, shared values, and a commitment to giving young people a safe, inclusive, and exciting experience. It is also an opportunity for volunteers to use their skills, gain new ones, support each other, and make a real difference.

There are many ways to get involved, both on the Camp Leadership Team and within the wider event teams, including:

  • Build Team
  • Security Team
  • Activities Team
  • Wider event planning and support roles

The Camp Leadership Team will help shape the overall direction of the camp, make key decisions, support the wider teams, and keep planning on track. Planning will begin in September 2026, with meetings held monthly. Everyone on the team will be expected to take on actions linked to their role and complete them in a timely way.

The Build Team will help prepare the site and will be needed for the two weekends before the event, as well as some preparation days.

The Security Team will help support the safety and smooth running of the event, with 24-hour cover required during the camp itself.

The Activities Team will help book, organise, schedule, and support the activities and the manpower needed to deliver them during the event.

Running a large event like this takes commitment, teamwork, and a can-do attitude, but it is also incredibly rewarding. Please do not be put off by the scale of the camp. I have run events like this for many years and will support every volunteer to make sure they feel confident, valued, and able to succeed in their role.

If you would like to be part of the team, or would simply like to find out more, please use the link below to either apply for a role or book onto our information webinar on 20th July at 8:30pm.

At the webinar, we will explain the different roles, the opportunities available, and how you can get involved.
