It was a summer to remember for Scouts across South West Cheshire as groups from right across the District came together for Chamboree 2026 at Cheshire Showground. With more than 6,000 Scouts and Guides from across the UK and around the world taking part, the week-long international camp brought together adventure, friendship, new experiences and plenty of opportunities to get stuck into the Animal Kingdom theme.
South West Cheshire was proudly represented by Wilson House, 3rd (Wolverton), 12th (Shavington), 14th (Weston), 16th (Crewe Green), 23rd (Wheelock), 26th (Willaston), 28th (Wybunbury), 38th (Nantwich), 39th (Sandbach), 40th (Brereton), 41st (Stapeley), Fiennes ESU and Shipton ESU. With so many groups and young people from across our District attending, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet other Scouts, take part in activities and make memories together while also experiencing the international side of Scouting.
From exploring the Animal Kingdom theme and taking part in activities across the site to meeting Scouts and Guides from around the world, Chamboree offered something for everyone. The partnership with Chester Zoo also gave participants the chance to learn about conservation, take part in citizen science and discover how small actions can make a difference to wildlife and the environment.
A huge well done to everyone from South West Cheshire who took part young people, leaders and volunteers alike. Chamboree is only possible because of the people who give their time, energy and enthusiasm, and it was brilliant to see so many members of our District being part of this incredible Scouting experience.
