On Sunday 18th October, volunteers from across South West Cheshire Scouts came together at the Ibis Styles Hotel in Crewe for our first All Volunteers Day.
It was fantastic to see such a great turnout, with representatives from 18 of our Scout Groups, including Section Team Members, Group Lead Volunteers, District and Group Trustees and members of the District Team.
The morning focused on the new Scouts national strategy, Place to Belong – Our Strategy to 2035. After exploring the ambitions behind the strategy, volunteers took part in smaller group discussions to consider what it means for us locally and how we can make South West Cheshire an even better place for young people and volunteers to belong.
In the afternoon, volunteers had opportunities to meet with others in similar roles, share ideas and experiences, discuss common challenges and explore ways to recruit and support more volunteers.
The day provided a valuable opportunity to bring people together from across the District, strengthen connections and start some important conversations about our future. The ideas and feedback gathered will help shape our District priorities and plans over the coming months.
A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their Sunday to take part, and to those who helped organise and deliver the event. It was a great reminder of the enthusiasm, experience and commitment of the volunteers who make Scouting possible across South West Cheshire.
