As a District Team Leader, you’ll take the lead in creating and shaping your Team. You’ll work closely with others in the District Leadership Team to lead and inspire volunteers in the District. These are senior leadership roles within South West Cheshire Scouts (equivalent to a Deputy District Commissioner), and come with significant responsibilities. You’ll be empowered to make key decisions about the structure of your Team and the tasks it is assigned. There are four vacancies we are looking to fill:

The District Programme Team supports Section Teams across the District in developing and delivering high quality programmes and delivers events and activities when these are best provided at District scale.

The District Support Team ensures the smooth running of the District, managing money, resources and assets.

The District Volunteering Development Team supports the volunteer experience across the District by ensuring that volunteers are welcomed, supported and well looked after.

The District 14-24 Team supports volunteers in Explorer Scout, Young Leader and Scout Network Section Teams to ensure that great programmes are planned and delivered which cater for the needs of this age group.

As a District Leadership Team Member, you’ll be part of the team responsible for motivating, leading and inspiring volunteers in the District. These are key leadership roles within the District (equivalent to an Assistant District Commissioner). Team Members will be empowered to look after a specific area of focus, on behalf of the Lead Volunteer.

These roles have been created to support the District Lead Volunteer in providing effective and proactive support for Groups across the District, and to provide interim leadership for any Groups without a permanent Lead Volunteer in post. You’ll be looking after an agreed number of Groups across a defined area of the District providing coaching, mentoring and guidance to their Lead Volunteers, to help them overcome obstacles and set goals to develop their Groups.

As a Group Lead Volunteer, you’ll support the adults who work directly with young people in your Group to ensure they can deliver a challenging, exciting and balanced programme. They need support to ensure that they are motivated, inspired and focused on providing first-class Scouting and that the necessary systems and resources are in place to allow the Scout Group to thrive.

16th SWC (Crewe Green) Scout Group is a thriving Group, made up of 3 Sections – Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. At the last census, membership was recorded as 82 Young People and 33 Adult Volunteers.
